Star Radio Media Days

Media Days

Media Days!

Our mission is to work with schools and education providers, helping to inspire young people and adults in the art of communication and social media. We look to help develop skills; build confidence and realise potential by encourging and motivating. During our Media Day's we explore the benefits and opportunities for young people using media. We aim to give young people a behind the scenes look into the media industry, not just consuming media but creating!

Louise - News Editor

I task the pupils to find a local news story, working with the students, I show them how to write the story for radio and how to edit it ready for broadcast. I find it improves their English and writing skills, as well as building their confidence when interviewing each other and local people.

John - Managing Director

The Media Days are an integral part of our Star Radio Academy arm, helping to instill confidence and provide a stage for the pupils to flourish. Who knows, we might just help create the next generation of journalist, presenters, programmers or managing directors?

John Clayton

Lesley – Director of Corporate Community and Education

My Job is to liaise with schools and colleges on the preparation to help make the media days a great success. Having worked in media for over 20 years, in a primary school for 4 years and am currently a governor at a successful secondary school, I can help bring the understanding of the curriculum together with media, to help deliver a well thought out fun and interactive day.
